Yes, the FA 77 is a sufficient enough lens. Won't break your bank or your back. Yes, no need for the new 85. Yeah... that's what I'm gonna go with. :p

For the sake of my wallet, I'm gonna request that any of your photos taken with the DFA* 85 be banned. Heh heh, just kidding, of course. :) You took some excellent pictures.
I just gotta remember the DFA* 50 does a fine enough job for portraits.

Oh, what I meant was that I received the FA* 85 as a gift. So, I still have in my possession an excellent 85mm lens, and I should not give into the temptation of spending $2,000 on the new DFA* lens, especially since the FA* can still produce fantastic photos.

Posting this to remind me that I was GIFTED an excellent 85mm lens, and I shouldn't be tempted by some fancy new equipment. I had the DFA on pre-order for a few minutes before I went through my photos taken with the FA* 85/1.4. I don't know if my wallet is grateful to me for not lightening the load...

Okay, seeing how it's the last week of June, and we need over 6,000 more posts for the giveaway to happen, I'm finally gonna share some shots. Hopefully someone who doesn't own this wonderful camera will get it and won't have any hesitation in shooting ISO 6400 with it. The pictures below were shot with the HD 24-70/2.8

Southern California has been experiencing a heatwave these past couple of weeks. So, imagine our surprise when water suddenly started falling from the sky in the late afternoon. These photos were taken at the Long Beach Comic Con with the DFA 24-70/2.8 & AF540FGZII on my K-1. Safe to say I was the only photog running around with no cover. :p

Took my FA 31mm Ltd on its first outing yesterday. I went out to Hollywood and Highland where the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame is to try my hand at street photography.

Here's a photo from my first day out with the K-1. This was taken at a Japanese street fashion enthusiasts meetup with the SMC Pentax-FA* 85mm F1.4 [IF]. The photo was overexposed so I decided to fiddle with this one first.
