Thanks all for the comments,,,
Jer, I mostly bracket my shots on a tripod for doing HDR with Photomatix but sometimes the gear is not always handy. I tried this as a single wiyj Photomatix but it just came out overcooked
Thanks sureshgvv, glad you liked it
Thanks Thomas, this sunset doesn't last as long as yours but the hills burned for 3 months that year
Thanks krypticide for the comment, this was process through Dynamic Photo using the raw file. I'll run the jpg through it and see how it comes out. I had to reduce the blue in the mountains alot to get the actual charcol colors of the burned mountains.
Thanks Dale, your right about the fence leading into the subject. I tend to use some type of leading line into my shots whether it be a fence, road, or lake/river.

[edit]: I must have had a senior moment when I posted this pic. As I was looking at it I realized that I was facing east when I took this pic and we all know the sun sets to the west. So, to make a long story short, the correct name of this thread is???
You guessed it, "Sunrise over the Fire"...
I took this photo about 2 years ago soon after I picked up a K10. I was going through some old pics the other day looking for something else on the same disk when I came across this one I thought I'd like to see it in HDR. I was able to do a psuedo (single image) fhdr with Dynamic Photo and this is what I came up with.
All C/C Welcomed...
