Based on Phil's input, I ordered a 6x7 rubber eye-cup from eBay. After spending $7 and 2 weeks waiting (came from Japan) here is what I found:
6x7 rubber eye cup & Spotmeter
Take out the metal ring inside the eye cup
Put the rubber eye cup on the spotmeter, and we have....
Thanks Phil!!

Thanks Tako Kichi. It should be available somewhere. I have a hunch that rubber piece should be a common thing, and can be replaced with a generic parts made for another optical instrument.

Thanks all. I am wondering how the original/new spotmeter looks like. Does it come with a rubber seal around the eyepiece? I googled around for close up pics of the eyepiece, and could not conclude. Below is a closest I can find: |

Hi All,
Due to GAC/LBA + stupid curiosity + eBay bidding impulse, a Pentax digital spotmeter arrived at my porch early this week. Playing with it, I noticed that it is missing the rubber piece that seals around the eyepiece frame, the one that is between the eyepiece frame and the lock ring. I think it does not add critical functionality, but I am curious if such rubber part replacement exists. The OCD part of me has been furiously googling around to find such. Is it possible that a generic rubber for binoculars or scope rifles would fit? If you know what dimensions I should look for, kindly share.
Thanks,
Andy |
