Before I bought my K20 Iwas a staunch Leica user. My rangefinder is 30 years old and my SLR is older than that. My Lenses are near the same vintage. I adapted my 400 leica to my K20 (now outdated) and I own a limited 35 2.8. and a takumar 28. I still use my rangefinder and SLR because I love the images they produce. A Pentax K2 would fill a nice little nitch in my bag.
Leica dropped all production of R equipment and glass in favor of a $28,000 digital S2 with a basment price for a lens starting at $5,000.
Pentax has not nor will ever abandon its clientel like that. Leica has lost longtime supporters and fans with the dicision to drop R equipment in favor a pipedream even dedicated L users can't afford.
I am an Audiologist by trade and the digital hearing aid industry changes virtually overnight at times. That's just the nature of digital technology. The days of 30 year old cameras are gone. My K20 will only leave my cold dead hands... or maybe upgrade to K7. :p:p
