Thanks for the comments guys. Next round on teh 19th I'm aiming for 1/40 or lower shutter speeds. Can't wait!

Thankyou. People complain about the Pentax AF system, but, like has been said countless times, if you use the tool to your advantage then the results speak for themselves. Really, the only time I find the AF system lacking is it's ability to track fast aproaching subjects. I'm not talking children running (I've shot soccer and not had a problem with this), more a drag/race car approaching at rapid speed. Although vehicles moving away it has no problem with at all.

I found these couple whilst the other were uploading:

I really like this shot, the reflections in the visor add a good look IMO.
1/125, f/10, ISO-100, 160mm.

I also love the, almost, fill-flash effect on the front of this car. There is a large white sign in the middle of the track (to the left of the photo) which reflects the sun giving this effect.
1/400, f/5.6, ISO-100, 190mm.

I snapped this when walking to get a drink, DOF works well I feel.
1/500, f/9, ISO-320, 500mm.

I hope you all aren't getting sick of seeing my motorsports addiction. :o :p

The following shots are from 2 rounds of our state drag racing series. I'm now the official photographer of drag racing in Tasmania meaning a magazine deal and a requirement to attend every round.

The 2 galleries are here and here.

The shots are taken with the K10D, 18-125 and the Bigma. The settings I used are above each image. Apologies for the watermark, I have used these photos on some motorsports forums also.

Please enjoy. Comments and advice gratefully received. :)
