I read that the touch screen function was added so that the newer cellphone generation can easily adapt to the use of the griii. In a way this model is trying to attract new users who grew up taking photos using the cellphone. That will also explain why the grii will still remain and available for old farts accustomed to switches.

Nahh...it does not follow the GR lineage. Maybe they will add it to the their future mirror-less cam.

I wanted this to have an EVF like the GXR but the touchscreen function will get the same job unless it is too sunny outside.

Looks like the flash is out. Personally, I rarely use a flash but I see a lot of pictures from Ricoh GR fans using it and they may be disappointed if there is no way of putting an add-on flash unit.

Looks like an ideal compact camera:
- touch screen
- chargeable via USB
- Wifi (should probably have tethering)
- full HD
- face-detection
- clip-on viewfinder accessory
