That Super Tak and the Chinon make beautiful bokeh, guys. Lovely!
Thanks Robin!
Here's another shot with the DA 50-200mm, shot at 115 mm, 1/250s, f9.5, ISO 200: Oak Leaves |

Thanks, jva59!
Voytech, I've been pleased with the performance from my 50-200 for the sort of shots I like to take. It has its limitations, but it's lightweight, compact, and can produce appealing photos. I took this one yesterday with the same lens at 138mm, f9.5, 1/250s, ISO 100: |

Thanks, Voytech. Sorry I left out the EXIF on this one. I shot it with the DA 50-200mm at 200mm, 1/30th, f5.6, ISO 200. The apple was high in the tree, and the telephoto was the only way to "get close." I love the colors in this one, and the texture of the apple.

Thanks, Dude. After using the kit lens for almost a year, I've come to believe it's an underrated lens which can do some great work. I don't know if it's the lens or many camera (K200D), but the dark backgrounds in close-ups can be a little noisy even with low ISO. Still, it is a handy lens which has served me pretty well.

I haven't posted here in awhile, but this photo from the 18-55mm kit lens brought out a pleasing bokeh: |

YES, I like that Yasik. I agree with Joe that this looks almost like a painting. It's very pleasing.

Thanks, Mark!:)
I like shallow DOF, too. As for deep DOF in street photography, I've seen some which has shallow with lots of bokeh highlights which is very appealing. But I also like many of the street shots with deep DOF, too. Only goes to show that where bokeh is concerned, it's very much a matter of taste.
As an aside, I've been learning a lot about street photography from you, Javier. I don't get much practice with it because I live in a rural area. This picture shows what passes for downtown.

Nah, you're not a dummy, Pete. It's an odd term, bokeh, and it refers to the out-of-focus portions of a photo. I expressed my own views of bokeh in "Focusing on Bokeh," and Wikipedia has an article about it, too. As you've no doubt observed, bokeh can be either distracting or very pleasing, depending on a variety of factors, including lens quality.
