Yep, I know - I have seen them when I was elsewhere in Oz. :) Actually I seem to recall seeing them on the GDR near Warwick.

Thanks! I'd like to get a decent shot of a Squatter Pigeon too, but I haven't seen them in the ACT that I can recall. Plenty of Crested Pigeons. :D
I agree, it's not easy to get close to birds, which is why I was so happy to catch this one! Persistence - I don't have the time or patience to use a hide, so I just need to be happy with the rare times I can get close to a bird without it flying away too quickly. :)

They may have been common once, but these days not so much. I was very happy to catch this one on the ground; all the others have been high up in the trees!
