So, I just received a 16-50 that was on ebay with 'a hair in it' as/is. Paid 300 US for it. The great news is that it's fully functional (including SDM) and I can't find any hair anywhere in it. It's very, very sharp right from 2.8 (and has a cool serial number (9048000)). Only gripe is no caps or hood, but I think my 12-24 hood may work, and I can spring for the hood and caps if necessary. It will live on my K3 from now on.
