Loving the images posted in this thread as they all go to show what an awesome camera the K-5 IIs really is. I don't believe it ever got the acknowledgement it really deserves which is possibly because of its model name. People just assumed it to be merely an "update" of the K-5. I did own the K-5 before and I certainly feel the IIs is a whole different ballgame. Nothing to share today as I took my GR out for a spin yesterday. Love those flower close-ups from FS and that cheekie girlie in her pristine feathers was also awesome mister R!

Here's a real Dutchie from me for this thread:

All lovely shots but my vote would go towards nrs. 2, 4, 7 and 9

That moon almost has a 3D feel to it and those beautiful streaky clouds on the windmill long exposure add bags of atmosphere.

I'm with Otis on this one. Nothing against tweaking things a bit until they are just so. Awesome end result with dreamy bokeh and knife-sharp feather features. Color is also beautiful!

What is Otis' postion on spiders? The end of the afternoon over here and this little guy caught my eye in my back yard. Still have a Tamron 90mm/f2.8, the very first AF version but IMHO easily the sharpest of all three versions which Tamron released over the years. On one of these shots I had to up the ante and go to ISO3200 to keep camera-shake under control. Tribute to the K-5 IIs really.

The detail in the feathers is remarkable as is the sharpness here. At 500mm this really is remarkable. I've become less fond of the "Pentax red" over time as it tends to oversaturate quite easily and turn colors like pink or purple into an orange-brown tint. I tend to lower its intensity a bit in my raw workflow through the use of an appropriate color curve. In the end though, a raw file is like a blank canvas: you can make it do anything you want.

"Dreamtree"
I've been passing this tree quite a number of times cycling through the Schoorl dunes. Either I had the wrong lens on me or the light wasn't right - the tree, badly mangled by the summer storm a few weeks ago, never made it to my harddrive.

Until today that is. The sun was setting to the left, over the Northsea and a few last bright orange rays hit the bark just so. The intense purple of the seasonal heather almost clashes with the bark. A few sunlit clouds drift overhead.

Technical: 3 exposures, merged and processed in digiKam. Orton effect courtesy of an ImageMagick script by the one and only Fred. Sharpening and noise reduction with NeatImage for Linux.

Mean exposure (of -2, 0 and +2):
Date and Time : 2015:09:02 19:54:02
Model : PENTAX K-5 II s
Exposure Mode : Auto bracket
Exposure Program : Aperture priority
Exposure Time : 1/500 s
FNumber : F5
Focal Length : 17.0 mm
ISO Speed Ratings : 400
Metering Mode : Multi-segment
White Balance : Auto

And this one was shot at the nearby beach with the sun just having disappeared below the horizon. The wet sand reflecting the clouds is what caught my eye.

Those last two again show these lovely dreamy OoF circles and the intensity of color as well as all of the different monochromatic variations really lend an extra punch!

I tried to read that post but cannot access it. That forum seems blocked to me. Oh, never mind. I did get the point and that's what this was about.

I have seen it happen before but squirrel-friend is right yet again and I apologize!

I find FS's flower close-ups absolutely stunning in both color as well as detail. But the last one literally blew me away. The shades of green and the lovely OOF circles are really exquisite. The little ladybug image is very well done too.
