No, it should be amazing. Macro lenses were usually the best lens produced by a company. Would you be surprised if it was made by Kiron?
What's really amazing is that almost nothing is known about Komine Co. Ltd. Two different addresses published in the 1980s, gone by 1993...

I feel the same way about my Tamron 52BB. But Tamron slapped a SP on it, so it isn't surprising :) And the SP 35-80 01A. I never thought I would consider a manual focus zoom from the 1970s one of my best lenses...A lens that costs about $40 these days...(depending on if it has an adapter, or what kind of adapter...)

Have you ever come across a macro prime that wasn't really sharp? :hmm:
I mean a real macro prime...not one of those 1:4 - 1:6 28mm lenses the resellers called macro...
