pre-Earthquake you could buy them off the Japanese Amazon /EBay (I forget which - I did see them on there) for the standard new price of ca. $350 (depending on exchange rates). You can use Google Translate to read the pages .. or there are forwarding companies that advertise their services, for a ca. $20 fee they will buy products for you and forward them directly onto the address you gave them ... of course importing into the UK you then have about 6% import duty and 20% VAT !

What a lovely shot of the Long Tailed Tit (?), John.
When I go birding I take the K5 with DA*300 and the K7 with Sigma 50-150 .... I've yet to take a single bird shot with the Sigma (great for everything else though) !

Wow too many great shots on this page to comment on them all but
Bahnmitstrang - lovely shot of a beautiful girl
Joakim - great shot !
Dadi - just superb - and with a x2 TC ? Wow. I'm supposed to be sleeping as I'm getting up in two hours to go the Binjiang Forest Park in Shanghai (Google it) but you've now reminded me to add the AFA x1.7 to my 300 for tomorrow (today) !
John C. - way to introduce yourself. Gorgeous (the photo not you).

Thanks CR - yes, I think I'm just going to have to go to a seamstress to have my pockets deepened.
Bud - see ?! That's exactly what I mean - stupendous shot of the Polar Bear and Snake in particular.

Damn you guys ! Here I was happily decided on 16-50 & 60-250 to add to my growing LBA addiction and now you lot throw the 50-135 and 300 into the mix too ....... aaaagh my head hurts !
So what do you think ? Should I stick to the 16-50 & 60-250 or is there any advantage by changing that to 16-50 / 50-135 / 300 (I have the AFA x1.7 to add to the 300 or 60-250) ?
I think a lot of the 50-135 shots posted here are stupendous and have me drooling .....
