I wouldn't worry at all about its technical merits and what people think they are. It has the emotional impact of several lesser photos put together. It made me want to cry and I didn't even know if I was happy or sad. Maybe one emotion for each eye?

Lowell, I sent that middle picture to several people immediately after seeing it. It is both sad and beautiful; great capture.
