My thermometer, all the graduation lettering suddenly dissolved, I am not sure why.
Anyway I am setting up for C41 with a water bath with a reptile temp controller so maybe I won't need a thermometer for bw soon.

I am just starting out with a Graflex Speed Graphic with an Optar f/4.7 135 mm and Wollensak shutter.
It has Front Rise, Front tilt back and Front Shift L~R
Bed drop gives Front Fall and Front Tilt forward.
But I am not ready for any of that yet !
Early days with it, so far I am getting paper prints but they are not as sharp and not as much contrast as the Pentax MX with 50 mm lens
These are scans of 6 inch by 9 inch paper prints (not the negs)
Pentax MX with Rikenon XR 1:1.4 50 mm: https://www.box.com/s/eknh47tirp7zqb5p6hpm
Graflex with the 120 Roll back, 6 by 9 , Optar 135mm lens at f/22 1/25 sec https://www.box.com/s/xvs1aqjxnm70ogh34xp8
The film on both is Ilford HP5+ and the paper is Ilford Multigrade
The enlarger is an old Federal condensor with Rodenstock Rogonar lenses, 50 mm for the 35 mm and 90 mm for the 6 by 9
Next I am going to make a lens board to take the Leica M39 thread so I can try the Rodenstock 90mm on the Graflex, I tried that lens on a camera, it is quite sharp.
Edit. I spoke too soon, after making a quick scan of the 6 by 9 NEGATIVE on the flatbed scanner, the image from the Graflex is quite sharp, so the above scan of the paper print shows an enlarger sharpness problem. https://www.box.com/s/1vajk1sq0pvqvlotxgtl |
