Hi E-man,
thanks for info,
pulling on the cable breaks the usb female socket printed circuit board tracks on mother board inside the camera, not the cable.
It has happened to me 2 times on the Pentax Ist Ds's that I have had.
I have ordered a hot spot sd card tonight to try on pentax K-01, and if that works OK, I will be looking for a used or new camera like the ist ds,
don't care whether ccd or cmos , battery type or how many pixels, old or new, etc, as long as it has penta prism and is on the low weight side.
Regards

Hi Paul,
I have one but it is not so convenient
Also I have taken the camera out only to find "No card in camera" when I go to take a photo !
I think next camera i will try the hot spot card.
Even though the ist ds can't use a hot spot card, I have the K-01, so just ordered a 16GB Toshiba Flash Air 3 to try.
I hope it will make me a bit more resistant to "absent mind"

Last Sunday I broke the usb connector on my Ist-ds, by picking up the camera, forgetting it was plugged in.
It still works if I press on the connector, so i have probably broken a track.
I did this to earlier Ist-ds some years ago.
Is it possible to get a 2 GB sd card with hot-spot? Not found on Amazon.
I suppose it is time for a new camera, but i liked the size and weight of the Ist-ds.
