I think this illustrates how different each person is in their expectations and tolerances. While that Tamron is certainly svelte compared
to the Sigma 20/1.4, it is IMO quite a bit larger than the 250g Tak50/1.4 or 165g A50/1.7. And then there is that throw away line, 'takes
an 82mm filter".........
By comparison, the M20/4 sits in at an almost dainty 150g. And manages to be wide while still only requiring a 49mm filter.
That's a 'hail' without having to shout.

My quote of 800g was based on Sigma's 20/1.4, which weighs in at 950g. That is much bigger than anything I'd care to own
for a 20mm prime. I can deal with a bit of distortion along the edges of a wide; I call it character. :)

I've said it before, the M20/4 is a limited in all but name. A modern version would certainly deserve that badge. On the other hand,
an 800g, 20/1.4 would be a yawn.

It certainly doesn't need to be AF, though I'd be surprised if Pentax released a MF lens in the present day. However,
modern coatings and and a fine tuning of the optics using modern tools would be welcome.

A modern, compact wide prime is certainly on the top of wants for me. I don't want a fast, big prime.
A modern remake of the 20/4 would be just perfect.
