Thank you all for your very kind comments. This is the very first time I have ever posted a photo of mine out there for public viewing. I am grateful for your comments, critique and civility.
I actually prefer to leave the trees in the foreground of the 3rd shot. I feel it gives the scene a more enveloped, cozier look, perhaps adding a bit of 'warmth' to an otherwise cold scene.
Your critiques are valid, I removed the trees in the foreground of shot #2, and I agree it is much improved.
That 1st shot was just plain 'ol dumb luck'! The Sun was gone within minutes.
Thanks Again,

Got these shots from across Donner Lake during latest ski trip. I was driving by this scene and 4-wheel lock up! I'm sure glad I had brought some camera gear along. I wish I had taken a tripod along. Oh well, I exhaled and shot hand-held. These are the 3 steadiest shots of the bunch. Zero post-processing except to re-size down to 900x600ish to meet posting requirement.
The cabins on the other side of the lake are about 1/2 mile away from my shooting position.
1st shot taken with DA*50-135mm.
2nd & 3rd taken with Tamron 70-300mm. [trees in foreground of #2 now removed] |
