yeah, spent a large part of my life doing that (living with drought) and trying to earn a living from the land at the same time. Some say its a good test of character (thats said by those who are in it)...others talk of mad dogs and englishman (usually visitors from the big smoke).
Looking back (not something I spend much time doing) what do I wish I had photographed?
I can recall some spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
I can recall lots of cold beer after a hard days work and the pleasure of sharing that with friends.
Dust storms.....ooohhh yeah!!...remember those very well...particularly the clean up afterwards.
The hungry animals, yes, remember each and everyone as we gave them away for a pittance rather than see them die from starvation.
And the simple things....like the clouds building up...was this the rain we so desperatley needed ? The rabbit cowering in the shade of post as I approached...fearing the heat more than me and holding its ground in the shade.
The shimmering heat mirages and the colours...once it gets truly hot & dry the colours do come out.
Mate, there is plenty there to shoot, it is best done before 9am and after 7pm...and keep the beer cold...AND look out for Dave's sister, she could be trouble :hmm: , but nothing that one of those cold beers probably couldn't sort out. :)
