Welcome to the club. The 21 is a great lens, and that shot is a keeper -- one you'll love to look back on twenty years from now.

About an hour and a half up the road.

Well, okay, it's not exactly spring. But the last couple of times the Weather Channel has predicted 4-6 inches, we've gotten almost nothing. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. It's just getting laughable around here how the weather predictions can be off by that much.

That is a fantastic shot, Mark!

That's kind of you to say. I'm not so sure I'm in the same league as a lot of these folks, though. One thing's for sure -- they challenge me to keep improving.

yiptwo,
I really like that first one of the girl and her phone. Nice shot to begin with, and the processing fits it perfectly.

EDIT: After seeing abieleck's comment, I realized that you shot this on film, not on digital. Did you process the film yourself or send out to a lab? I ask because it just doesn't look like standard processing. Not that I ever processed film myself. But like I said, I really do like the look!

Also, yiptwo, nice one with the baby's hand.

I'd say you're getting used the lens just fine.
I really like that first one. Great composition and beautiful light!

Since I got the DA70 a couple of years ago, it has been my favorite lens for people shots. Recently, though, I've started using it for landscapes and waterfalls also. Here is a shot I liked from a recent trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

I posted more shots from this trip in the DA21 thread:

While shooting flowers today, I got distracted with a bee. I didn't quite nail the focus on this one, but it was close enough. And I liked the perspective.
Taken with a DA 70 Ltd on a K-x.

I ran across this thread while looking for samples from the DA21. (I keep wavering between the 15 and the 21 as my next lens.) Anyway, I thought I'd get in on the fun by posting a couple from my only Ltd: the 70. Because of its decent reach and small size, I find it a great lens to have on the camera while playing outside with the family. This past weekend we finally got enough snow to play in, so here's a couple that I really liked.
