I don't know if it's normal but I feel like every manual lens I own focuses slightly different so I just aim a little back or forth depending on my experience with it. this is of any significance only on the wider apertures

if your other lenses have smaller maximum apertures then you're playing with les DOF, thus a very logical reason for your MF difficulties
