My wife and I were walking next to the river this afternoon on our way to Thanksgiving dinner at a favorite restaurant, and I snapped a few pictures of fall leaves and the local waterfowl. A little later while waiting at the restaurant, I still had the KP with me, and a fellow said hello and asked if that was a Pentax. I said yes, and a short conversation followed about his camera collection, mostly film bodies from Nikon, Canon and Pentax, and what Pentax is up to these days. He asked which body I had, and I said a KP and held up the camera for him to see. When we were seated, he said, "Nice to meet someone still shooting with film." Took me a second to compute, but the KP does look rather like an MX or LX, and he probably figured "KP" was just a designation he had missed.
So at least one person in the Northwest besides the people who shoot with it still remembers Pentax.

My son and I did a two-week cross-US car trip in August, hitting a number of northern national parks (Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Badlands...) along with downtown Chicago. I carried my full Pentax bag, mostly using the 15 Ltd and the 55-300 PLM on a pair of KPs.
Number of other Pentaxes I saw? Zero.

On a recent trip to the Las Vegas strip I spent some time camera watching. I spotted more Leicas (2) than Pentax (0).
