This lens deserves a lot more respect than it gets ! Don't get me wrong I love all my 50's but the 55 is just better at some things.

I like it alot wide open ! It has "CHARACTER" Nice job getting it fitted and working good !

Actually it looks quite good just extremely narrow DOF. I'm assuming this is the older single coated version and not the SX version. I have the f1.8 version and find it as sharp as any of my pentax but it loses contrast much quicker than my smc lenses when shooting towards any kind of light.

No I don't. I've eyed a couple this past year but never pulled the trigger. I really like that OOF rendering though. Is it common to a wide range of there lenses or particular to that one?

this shot at f4. first shot jpeg from camera second shot levels and USM applied. For a non multicoated lens it handles well but requires a little help in PP.
