As requested by pjv here is my contribution.
Spotted this cocoon near our letterbox yesterday. Today it was missing but found it on an adjacent bush. Intrigued by this I hastily looked up Google. It turns out to be a Metura elongatus or Saunders Case Moth. It drags this around with it as a mobile home until it pupates. If disturbed it retreats into the cocoon#2 and eventually creeps out to feed again #3. |
