No, basically many here wants RI to say something like 'we will produce a worthy successor to K3-II to be presented at CP+".
And that would be, IMO, stupid.
IMO they said as much as they could without unveiling too much. I understand why some want some news but asking more would be counterproductive.

It happens indeed even though the K-1 was a different thing, as being their first digital FF.
As for other cams, the may hint at or show prototype but nothing else.
Why would they give other OEMs any information? They just won't.
As frustrating as it is. Because it really is.

But according to Reed response, we do know they aren't the same sensor.
Which just proves the point made earlier 'just the same sensor and slap the accelerator on it' or somethink alike.
K3 sensor just isn't used anymore. probably not on sale. SO no, an hypothetical K3-III being a K3-II woth accelerator is NOT possible.

If XT3 sensor is indeed from Samsung, this is encouraging.
Means Samsung is in the same ballpark performance wise as Sony.

Because, don't you know, the whole market moves to mirrorless. So they have to. Otherwise they'll look like old school vintage thing.
They they go at it. But not too much, mind you: would be sooooo unfortunate to kill the current income (DSLRs).
During this time, Ricohs move slowly into more DSLRs. Good. May they rush to MILC. Good idea :)
If Ricoh goes MILC, I expect a GR/GX derivate. Not a competition to (whatever current brand).

Well, once you remove OVF, it's clear that EVF is of prime importance. I'll be the first to state that it is missing on the GR.
It has nothing to do with being better than OVF though.

What is actually possible IMO would be a GR-inspired MILC. Very compact, with a couple lenses but only UWA to mid-Tele (portrait).
Lightweight and not 'IwannaHaveTheBrightestLensOnEarth' thing. But very high quality.
Around Leica CL/TL2/X. Kind of.
