I just tried my new DAF 50 1.4 on my K-3. Holy cow. Blazing speed. Probably the fastest focusing lens I have. So far I am impressed.

A brand new K-S1 or K-50 can be purchased new for $400, and a used K-3 and K-3ii are pretty inexpensive right now which both have KAF4. If you prefer not to upgrade, there are plenty of APS-C lens options for any pre-2013 Pentax DSLRs.

I thought that if you order before 4 pm, it get's shipped the same day. Don't understand why, if people were getting "in stock" notifications mid-morning yesterday, pre-orders wouldn't ship out the same day.

No tracking. Still in the "In stock, order sent to warehouse" stage since mid-day yesterday. Was hoping to get it tomorrow (I'm two days' shipping time from B&H), but now looking at Monday.....actually next Thursday for me due to my work schedule. I am having it shipped expedited delivery (but apparently not expedited processing). :(

Got this response from Ricoh America just now: "All of our dealers are getting product (D-FA 50mm) in this week. B&H should have their product any day, our Ricoh Imaging Website will also have the product ready to sell tomorrow.

B&H went from expected availability of July 24 to date unavailable :(. I paid in full since I used PayPal. If I were to cancel and wait for a 3-5 day refund, the ones on Amazon will probably be gone. Ughh.

I don't understand that statement. It's less than each of the FF 2.8 zooms when they were first released, including the 24-70 which was $1299 USD at launch. The 15-30 was $1449 USD at launch and the 70-200 was $1796 USD at launch.

What are the chances of the DFA 50 being in stock after preorders are filled? The Japan Ricoh Imaging Facebook and online webstore, using google translates to the following, not sure what to make of it, if anything:
