I went out, it was -15ēC, my hands froze and surprisingly, there weren't a lot of birds around.
But I met these guys. 2022-01-07-Happy-canon-shooters by Norm Head, on Flickr
Two former Canon 1dx shooters now shooting R5s. The one on the left bought two, and said he has rarely had two, reliability issues are keeping him from carrying a back up. The latest being you can spin the dial, but the settings don't change.

"The guy.."
He looked at my A 400 5.6 and said, "I only shoot ƒ/4". Once he realized the conversation was over he tried a bit to resurrect it. 2013-12-24-Niagara-photographer by Norm Head, on Flickr
If you want to have a conversation with me, don't start by pulling a snob move. :D

That used to be the way. I you wanted a quick start in photography you found that guy and offered to be his assistant. You spent a couple years getting coffee and changing film while you learned the ropes.
Now you just read a bunch of suspect opinions on the internet and declare yourself a pro. ---------- Post added 11-17-21 at 11:24 AM ---------- Client on a trip 2013-08-11Barron-Canyon by Norm Head, on Flickr 2013-08-09-Brian-Cork-Lake by Norm Head, on Flickr

Just in case you're wondering, I aways have clients sign model releases. If they don't, I don't provide them with a digtal album of the trip. Only one trip has refused. She was a lawyer. "You could use these images for anything."
She was under the illusion that her images would be useful to "anything".
Here she is, she's not recognizable so I'm good. I guess she thought pictures of her backside would be preferable to something showing her face. 2013-07-17-Opeongo-River by Norm Head, on Flickr

Good thing there's something to stand on. People might have thought she was short.

As a camper and living on granite ridge with a 200 foot well, my first thought was, "how do you get your water up there?"
The mailman is going to make you put your mailbox at the bottom.
