I think I saw them once in Toronto. Singing "we're an American band." It didn't exactly endear them to the audience. Nice cow bell though.

Written after his break up with Judy Collins (Judy Blue Eyes) when he was obviously still struggling. No doubt a great time to get serious with your guitar, right after a break up. It'll keep you occupied.

I was like "where do I know that band from?"

I saw Hendrix 3 times, and never felt there was recording of Little Wing that matched what he did on stage. I found one.... and he's on stage. You Tube |

And one I played many times before I severed a tendon in my first finger of my left hand. Bob Dylan "Baby Let Me Follow You Down", I haven't heard it for a few years, I actually started picking and fingering an air guitar as I listened. You Tube |

I finally understand why even as a guitar player, I never understood how Scholz got his sound, and I never once tried to cover a Boston tune.

Another one of those songs still on my play lists, 50 years later.
Completely etheric guitar leads.

I keep looking at turntables, I still have 60 or so albums on vinyl, but I haven't pulled the plug yet. My Airplane albums and others from the 60s are so scratched as to be hard to listen to. In the 70s and 80s I played them once and put them on cassette tapes, so my 70-s and 80s albums are in excellent shape.

Brings back memories. I saw these guys live at least four times. I had several Airplane albums, and my son had several Starship albums. But my general comment on music from that era is it tends to sound a little "thin" these days.

Sass Jordan - Wikipedia
One of those performers as part of the Canadian music scene I've been hearing about forever. I've never seen her, but my sister was at the posted performance.

I looked up some of my favourite guitar intros last night, I guess I might as well post them here.
Micheal Bloomfield at his best. You Tube |

Musicologist and archiver but also a heck of a slide guitar player Ry Colder You Tube |
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CLP7gOX9j9I?controls=1" allowfullscreen> |
I saw Mountain perform once. My guess is they were named Mountian because their lead and singer was mountain of a man, with a teeny tiny little guitar that made him look even bigger. You Tube |
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qFhM1XZsh6o?controls=1" allowfullscreen> |
And of course the riff master, Randy Bachman You Tube |
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4cia_v4vxfE?controls=1" allowfullscreen> |
And Steely dan You Tube |
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eDcFIdJRvA8?controls=1" allowfullscreen> |
The last three I've all seen live.
