Just place it in the sun for 1-3 weeks ought to be enough. I did so with my 50mm and had no yellow after that. But are you shure you want to take away the yellow? I think it gives a special feeling to the photos and if I get a lens with this problem again I'll leave the yellow elements as they are.

He was a truck driver and mostly used the camera when driving around in Japan. Maybe he retired from both the truck driving and the camera. Anyway hope he is ok :)
leadguitarest: Nice photos with the 17mm.

Very long time since I saw any posts from Mike Cash in Takumar club, I really liked his photos. Anyone knows if I can find photos by him anywhere else?

At last...... I have owned about six Takumar f1.4 and I finally found and bought a SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4 the 1972 version with rubberized focusing ring. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to the others.

In no way any special with this photo except for the nice pop/3Dness to it, I've never seen this kind of 3D in any of my other Takumar photos. The picture i very busy but I still like it because the 3Dness. I don't know if it will show up when I paste it here but I hope it will pop the same way as the original does on my screen
Crop and converted to BW (it seems as if it's not possible to show pictures from outside PF so I'll add a link) <http://hem.passagen.se/siamthai/IMGP0670BW.jpg> |

I've been offered to buy a Takumar 35mm F2.3 but I've never heard of this lens before. Does anyone here have it and if so is it any good? The price asked is about $80.

Yes, that was my thought about this. Then I'll buy it and see how it works. It will also protect the lens agains fingerprints and such better than an original hood for 85mm. It doesn't cost so much so it's worth trying. Thanks for your help :)

I have a Takumar 85mm F1.8 but no lens hood. Now Iīve found one lens hood for Takumar 135 / 200mm and it has the right filter thread (58mm) but is that hood possible to use with my 85mm and K-5? My English is to bad to explain what I mean but I'll try. What I wonder is if the hood is so long that it I will see it in the photos?

Nice :) How did you merge them? I guess you didnīt only merge from left to right but also from bottom to top? And how big was the merged original panoramafile (GB or MB)?

Said and done! I have now bought a Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:1.8/85. I bought it from an auction site (Tradera = eBay Sweden) from a seller with rating 5 star from 350+ sold camera items so he seems to be honest. I'll probably get it next week. |

I have found a Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:1.8/85 (M-42) in excellent condition. At present I only have 50mm Takumars so I thought I would by this 85mm. The asked price is 210 USD (freight included), is that to much to pay for this lens?

It's a part of panoramaphoto I made from pictures I took yestarday with my Tak at about 5 pm. The panoramas is of course much to big to share (16 pics merged toghether in PS). |

A question about Katz Eye. I thought I'd buy one of 'em. What do you recommend? A plain Katz Eye with horizontal split prism circle or is it better to order one with "Rule of Thirds" grid or some other of the many choices I understand that it's also a personal choice? What do you prefer? |

Hi,
I've just found this forum about Tak and looking at all the amazing photos really got me interested in getting Tak-lenses. I have been made an offer to buy the following four lenses SMC TAKUMAR 300mm f/4.0 SMC TAKUMAR 105mm f/2.8 SMC TAKUMAR 50mm f/1.4 SMC TAKUMAR 28mm f/3.5 for the price of 420 usd. Is it to much or what do you think? |
