There's something "just right" about that last one. Nice job.

That B&W one is awesome. Great framing and PP. Proof positive that Pentaxians are blessed with some fantastic portrait lenses. FA77 and DA*55 are my favorites.

While the first one is literally stellar, the second one is really "stellar"

I agree that this crop is better, but I could go either way on the color/b&w choice.

I'm trying to think of a wardrobe malfunction joke without sounding like too much of a perv. :o

Small series with a busy little bumble bee. All with K-3 and FA77 at f/2.8.

I totally understand this sentiment and have no doubt that you would love the 31, but if you can swing it, I would only sell the 16-50 to fund it. The 50-135 is such a spectacular mid-range (to me) zoom and I have found it to be fairly irreplaceable. You're just not gonna find another zoom anywhere around that range that has the same quality IQ. I've had the Sigma 50-150 and while there's nothing wrong with it, it just can't compete, IQ-wise.
The 16-50 is a fine lens (I used to have one) but is not quite as singular as the 50-135, IMO.

Wow, that's exactly the sort of personality she looks like she has! Not much fun to shoot, I'm sure. Oh well, good work anyway.

Your photos of this girl have been quite good, but there is something about her that I find off-putting. She looks mean to me, and not in a good way. ;)

That actually doesn't surprise me at all. You're not the first person I've heard of that likes the 43 best. Some of it may be that the 43 is newest to you, but you may end up always preferring it. Nothin' wrong with that!

Oh man, please don't start that stuff, even in jest. A myth that has gone on too long already. I've had both versions of the 77 and my AIV is absolutely better. I've still got a MIJ 43 and it's great, but not any better than my AIV 31 or 77. It comes down to individual copies, not countries of origin. Some early production AIV's may have had some teething problems, but that's it.

My goodness. Hard to know where to start here. The 31 is the most desired Pentax lens in existence, and for good reason. There are certainly more than "a few" nice pics taken with it in this thread. Do a flickr search for photos taken with it. The FL can be challenging at first if you're not used to it, but that's remedied in time with continued use. It's possible that you may end up preferring the 43, but don't dismiss the 31 so easily. It's a fantastic lens that's enchanted the vast majority of it's owners.

I think that issue gets overblown a bit. I would bet that yours is fine. Mine also has a very slight give, but nothing that I would consider to be an issue at all. I've had it for a while, it's the same as the day I got it and is a superb example of the lens. I would put it out of your mind and just get down to enjoying it!:)
