Do it Ray.
Take the boat with your car - you get to take more luggage, your our car to drive around in, and you don't waste a day because you sail overnight.
Unless you are going to stay for months, you won't see everything! So choose what you want to see most and plan your trip accordingly.
Just be aware that travel by car in Tasmania is generally slower than anywhere else (except peak hour in Melbourne and Sydney!!)

Thanks Ray.
The 18-135 is on my KP (and K5 before that) most of the time. And sometimes it just outdoes itself and its sometimes badly (and erroneous) maligned reputation.

I have posted these elsewhere, but I think they are worth posting on this thread.
No prep for this series; see bird, wind 18-135 out to 135, shoot shoot shoot. (Then crop crop crop!!) Cross posted.
My daughter's 10 week old Cavoodle.
I like the way the black hair has texture and definition.
This was a flash shot taken from only a few feet away and looked a bit grey (gray) when imported into Lightroom, but the black has been rescued and looks good IMO. K5_14313 Mabel by Rod Grant, on Flickr

Hi Matt, This doesn't look out-doorsy enough for you!
Snow? Mountain bike territory? Are you lost?
(Nice image all the same.)

Savoche, I have been philosophically opposed to B&W since colour film became readily available.
You might just have converted me (a little).
Those three shots are lovely.

Just remember Alex, last year there were more deaths by selfies than deaths by shark attacks.
A selfie with a bear could turn into a statistic.

Print it, Michael, and hang it in his kennel!

Norm, love your work!
I am always in two minds about milky looking water when the reality is that water surges and bubbles and splashes and that is what the eye sees.
You just proved me right.

Hi Norm,
Last year I met a lady with her dog amongst sand dunes. Her dog would hide the ball and then watch her look for it.
When the dog thought it was time to go home, he would retrieve the ball and bring it to her.

On holidays last week - grey skies or light rain a fair bit of the time - walking back from an early morning shoot a chap in the street commented on the weather and then told me to be careful with my camera: I just said "it's a Pentax" and he replied "oh". I don't know whether that was a knowing "oh" or a quizzical "oh", but no more was said!

I thought you would like this thread.:D
It is not a perfect lens, (there aren't too many which are perfect!) but it can produce great images as you can see here.
