Des, I have a question that has been on my mind for some time, and no-one I know has a clue.
We regularly get large flocks of Sulphur-crested cockies in the paddock behind our property, and sometimes a similar size mob of Corellas (both Little & Long billed).
I don't think I have ever seen a mixture of cockies and corellas.
Do they flock together at all? or do they keep their distant from one another?
Just curious.

Thanks Des.
The competition for a new t-shirt (or a lens ) increased my posting rate a bit, and a couple of those pics you mentioned came out of the archives.
You don't miss the Red-rumped Parrot by much; if you moved a few kilometres north you should be in their range, judging by the range map.
(I've just put netting over my apricot tree; I wish I had done it last week. I have lost a good part of my crop. Rotten Birds!:fedup:)

Crested Pigeon.
I see these in the yard occasionally, but judging by the Australian Bird Guide map we must be on the very edge of their range.
- 55-300PLM through the window. OOOH I lied! I just realised it was the DA18-135 (but still through the window). Sorry. Crested Pigeon, KP__8300,_ by Rodney Grant, on Flickr

I think better said as 'used to be a Gippsland boy'.
So much to do, so little time... we don't get back very often.

Yes Des, but I haven't seen a lyrebird for a while!
This is not lyrebird country!

Yeah. I also have a Sigma 150-500 that weighs in at 1.91kgs.
It hasn't been out of the house since I bought the PLM.
I think a heavy crop on the PLM gives a better image than the Siggy uncropped!

Thanks Peter.
There were not "quite" in my yard - but I was when I took the pics!
Heavy cropping - the 'close up' of the Galah was cropped down to 1643 x 1092
If I had all my gear stolen then first thing I would buy would be the 55-300PLM.

What a suspicious mind you have Des!
We seem to specialise in RBF, New Hollands, Fairy Wrens as far as small birds go.
The wrens don't seem to move seasonally at all, the finches and honeyeaters thin out for a while each year, although this year not so much.
