There are many places which would take a pre-order over here, too. I wouldn't bet my money on that.

If that is true, Pentax will get some hard beating on that.... I am again very happy to have bought the old Sigma 70-200/2.8 years ago and the 50-500 recently - both very good lenses within sensible limits.

Availability before Christmas was also the official information I got at Photokina.
