Thanks, I almost didn't post it knowing there would be thousands posted today that look just like it. But I am happy with the outcome even if it's not particularly unique. Focusing on a dark moon with that f/4 lens and TC making my aperture at 5.6 was not easy! I was actually a little surprised this one wound up as sharp as it did. I was also pretty impressed with ISO 6400 which I don't usually use.

Cool, I just watched Alien and Aliens with my son recently. Reminds me of something from one of those films.

Yeah, I had been thinking about one and then at the same time I had a good photo payday and I saw a used one for a good price and I couldn't resist!

Really nice! I need to get my A*300/4 out again. I haven't used it since I got the DA* 60-250 recently but it still holds up really well against that much more modern lens. Plus it has more reach.

Yeah, I'll see what I can do! I just ordered a DA* 60-250 so the A*300 may not get quite as much use once I have that. But for stuff like the moon the 300 will still probably be the right lens.

Thank you and yes, this is a great place to live (as long as you don't mind harsh winters).

Thanks and yes. The bird came and landed on the tree as I was already setting up a shot. Very cooperative!
