Hello, everyone.
I haven't posted here in a while.
In January, I bought a Sigma 17-50 f2.8 lens.
I still love the image quality of my Pentax 16-45 f4 lens, but I wanted an f2.8 lens to focus better in low-light situations.
Here is a example from a recent model workshop.

Hello, all.
A shot from a recent model workshop.
I usually don't like the K-01 pastel effect when used on a portrait, but I think it works well here.
K-01 with DA70mm @ f4.0.
I would love to use my Taks for portraits, but a model workshop is too hectic, and quick-paced.

Chris, I thought that was one of your photos before I saw it was you. :)
I like how the model's arms echo the branches.
A pleasing image.
I prefer the black & white.

Thank you very much, TaoMaas, and luftfluss.
This image would not have been possible without my Lensbaby.
Hence, I will begin using it more often.
Don't you just love old English words? ;)

Lately, I've been wanting to create still life shots different than the usual bowl of fruit, so yesterday I tried.
I love my Lensbaby for still life shots, so I got a few props together, and this is the result.
The EXIF is incorrect, the lens used was my Lensbaby 3-G.
The props were simple:
A bottle of cherry liqueur, a Venetian mask, and one of my mandolins: a Puerto Rican Cuatro.
I am not a good player, but rather, a collector.
Window light from the left.
Then, I processed the image in camera with the K-01's digital filter. First, posterization, then the pastel effect.
Lensbaby set at f4.
For an hour's effort, I'm pleased with it.

Here are two real women, and one, while not real, defends us against evil.
The lens used on the third photo was the M100mm macro.

Do you make the jewelry?

Here are three more of this model, who was very pleasant to work with.
Her name is: Allison Elizabeth Sutherland.
Again, please forgive the less than ideal background details.
Photo #1.) I asked her to close her eyes for this shot. So innocent, yet sensual.
Photo # 2.) Not all good photos are taken from the front. She did have very nice hair.
Photo # 3.) For not using a tripod, I am very satisfied with this shot.
I hope to hire her privately in order to get a better variety of poses with different lenses.
Enjoy.

Thank you very much, PiDicus Rex, I really do appreciate it! :)
I'm busy right now, but I'll post a few more later on.
I love all categories of photography, but portraiture is my favorite.

Hello again, all.
Here are a few photos from a model workshop I went to the other day.
All taken with my favorite combo: K-01, and DA70mm.

All the excellent shots here have inspired me to break out the camera, and the imagination.
It's too cold here in New York for any outside photos, so I did some still life shots. K-01 with M 100 macro. F11.
I call this, "Music, and mirth."
Enjoy, Mike.

The Pentax K-01/DA16-45mm/AF-540FGZ combination makes your subjects look their best, even when they never look good! :D

Here's a grab-shot I took at a local street fair of the singer in a band.
Taken with my favorite combo: The K-01 with the DA70 and fill flash.
Treated in Lightroom.

Excellent concept, Chris.
Many people only think about the technical side of photography - which f stop to use, and trying to get the lighting perfect.
This is a great example of a unusual, interesting, and imaginative photo.
Very nicely done.
