Class 4 is marginal for the k-5. Try changing your setting to lowest quality jpeg and see if that changes anything. Since the file is smaller it should theoretically write faster. If it does, then you know the problem is the card. Or try a faster card if you have access to one.
Class 6 cards will work, but class 10 is the only recommendation at this point. New class 10 cards are 45mbs or even 95mbs which is way beyond current cameras but gives you some 'future proofing'.
