This thread is like a horrible novel that you can`t put down, I`m afraid if I don`t check in every hour or so I will lose track so badly I won`t be able to recover. And if I don`t keep up I might inadvertently reply to a cheese post only to discover we are actually talking about dogs.
And since I already have a k-3 not sure if I should still be here.....

I was going to follow up on the Australian Shepherd question but I see Norm has already done. As far as anyone I know can say they have nothing to do with Australia except possibly they got associated with sheep and shepherds imported from Australia.
The base stock for the breed is supposed to have Basque origins brought to the US to herd sheep. Used throughout the western US as sheep and cattle dogs.
Still used extensively in Oregon as sheep dogs. And elsewhere as search & rescue and other jobs requiring lots of energy and desire to work. I am on my tablet or I would post a picture of our Sage.

We had French toast stuffed with cream cheese and homemade three fruit marmalade for breakfast.
And even though bacon is now banned, we also had bacon. Apparently two strips got lost in the freezer and just surfaced.
So it was a very good day, bacon and cheese-wise.
On the dog front I am quite partial to Australian Shepherds, they are not happy unless they are working.

I believe it can be saved. Application of large amounts of cheese will bind the unraveling threads back into the glowing icon of unrealistic offtopicism we have grown to love. But we must act urgently there is no time to waste.
I will start with an egg and cheese sandwich. Probably not real cheese but I think the physical properties lend themselves to deravelization. (Odd, spell check wanted to change that to demoralization).........

I feel confused........ Like the continuity of life is unraveling....... Not sure I can handle the jarring unreality of it........ Or is it the reality? Hard to tell........
After over 2,500 posts of solid, comfortable off-topic conversation somebody tries to post on-topic? Isn't there a place for that kind of thing?
Seriously, I read the post twice looking for the punch line. Maybe I should go back and read it again............. |

Whoaa easy there!!! Not sure what you mean, this thread has far more social redeeming value than any 10 threads in the rumor section. In fact I believe it has distinct medicinal value as well. When I go to the rumor section, or that other section that begins and ends with 'F' my blood pressure goes up. When I come here it goes down. And it's much cheaper than a doctor visit.
Ok, that I can agree with. Not the duck part, I'm a Beaver fan, but the can't get out part is sure true.

Well folks that's all for me tonight. I know we are supposed to stay up and drink libations or watch some fool thing drop but I'm off to bed. I've never noticed that the next day was particularly different than the one before it so I'm not expecting anything special for tomorrow. Except that breakfast is New Year's pretzel instead of eggs and toast so I guess that's something.......
And I guess it means a couple of things on the Ricoh road map for 2013 or later are actually going to be later............

Probably true. With the possible exception of the 35-70 and the 24-50 none of those are remarkable. I do like the 70-210 but honestly it's not in the same ball park as the 60-250. The primes on the other hand hold their own rather well. The 28mm is excellent and so is the 50mm. I have not really tested the 50mm macro enough yet, it just came this week. I would really like to get a copy of the 135mm but every one I've seen has gone for silly money.

And to keep off topic, yes I do believe it was the lack of breakfast menu variety that has led to this. The wonder of it all is that now I can blame she who minds the menu! It is all her fault I have all these lenses!!

Sadly, that is no longer possible.
As to breakfast:
Monday - cereal
Tuesday - yogurt and granola
Wednesday - Eggs and toast day!
Thursday - cereal
Friday - yogurt and granola
Saturday - French toast day!! Yeah!
Sunday - Pancake day! With bacon!!
I never noticed until I recorded this that she who minds the menu is remarkably habit bound. I don't think that menu has changed in 25 years.............

Definitely not a reprimand. I suspect there was concern that the infection had spread and your thread was added here to quarantine it. Whether you should feel good about that or not is another question, and one I am not qualified to answer. But we are all glad you could join us......

When I was a kid one of my aunts never showed up for Christmas or New Years. When I asked her why she did not come with all the rest of the relatives she replied that as long as her company was crazy enough to pay her overtime on holidays, she was working holidays. At that time they paid her double time on holidays, and triple time if the holiday fell on a weekend. Of course the company has since gone out of business but it was good while it lasted.......

Spent most of my life in retail and worked most of those days as well. I worked today, but I am not working tomorrow. At least not on the job that pays the bills. I am sure there is a list of other things that need done though.......

Not to get this thread off topic, but since it is almost new years here, and already in some places: What New Years traditions do you celebrate?
We start the morning with a "New Year's Pretzel" Which is a pretzel shaped sweet bun with white icing. Don't ask, I've no idea but they are tasty. This year she is making one with cranberries and hazelnuts as well as the icing.
Then we have to have pork and sauerkraut for lunch and then left over pork and sauerkraut sandwiches for dinner. Again, don't ask, I have no idea. But I'm told that unless these things happen the new year will be terrible.
