All I can say is stay away from it. If you pick up a K-1 you will be Doooomedİ, and then you will have to provide one for yourself:):)

Before the K-1 I would have agreed with you 100%. In fact I've said so quite a few times. Waste of space, material and so on, not useful.
However, the K-1 has converted me. The twisty screen is one of the most used details. I'm still rather shocked by how many times I use it, when a month ago I was still insisting it would stay folded up and unused. You don't know how much you use it until you try twisting the k-3II screen and it doesn't move...........:D

Adding some of the K-1 tech is an obvious conclusion. But the missing part is the sensor. If they are going to replace the K-3II at some point they need a sensor with some clear improvements. Otherwise, I'm stumped as to what they could add to make a k-3III. Maybe the tilty screen thing? Maybe the K-1 AF module?

+1 Not much not to like. Reviewers are going to have a tough time finding those little 'faults' so that their reviews look 'balanced'. :) Kinda hard not to get enthusiastic about this camera, it really is quite remarkable.
And so far, no faults of any significance.

Ricoh does. But no one here does. Of course that will not stop anyone from telling you.
No idea where they are going to go with the naming convention, they seem to have painted themselves into a corner.
As to the next APS-C camera? There are rumors about a K-70 name being registered so I would suspect that will be a replacement for the K-50. I also suspect they will do something to replace the K-3 with similar specs, 24mp maybe a little faster frame per second rate and some of the K-1 tech. I am going say no 4k video and 10fps is highly unlikely. Just a good solid APS-C camera.
If you want a D500, I think you are going to have to buy a D500. Just my opinion.
