This is at Barrier Lake, Kananaskis, Alberta. It is a man made lake resulting from a hydroelectric dam on Kananaskis river.
Barrier Lake was used as location in the 2003 film X2: X-Men United as the stand in for Alkali Lake and in Heartland (CBC) as Eagle Lake (2011).
