Please be careful with yours "you simply don't know what you're talking about" utterances — you use it too often.

Wildlife is a wide term; those are not mountain goats and eagles exclusively.
And having spent quite some time in Europe, years, I am not being prejudiced by an UK member as to "what constitutes a wildlife"; to shoot any interesting wildlife from the overpopulated UK, he must use 600mm+ indeed, to reach the shores of Norway.

You exhibit same issue as Clackers. That what you describe is a geographic problem, and a problem of a particular interest in particular animals.
You should at least inquire in other people's claim why they think 200mm and below is still a very good choice for the wildlife. And not dismiss them with "you have no clue". I live in Australian bush, and have visited European countries and their forests, plains, mountains, marshes, rivers, lakes, seashore, and more. I stand behind my observations.
Wild-life also includes flora, rodents, insects, snakes, landscape formations of the wilderness, etc. If one goes to shoot bald eagles thinking that is "wildlife photography", he misses 99% of wildlife worth exploring.

"85?mm? That's not a lens; this is a lens !" (pulls behind his back a 150-450 or 560mm)

Australian bush is another story, and 300mm+TC you use is perhaps about right, because the bush is broken up, trees and treetops are broken up, and animals hear and smell from a mile someone's approaching because of the ever present wind.

If stuck in an European forest, 300mm is often way too long. 200mm and under is better, because forests are much denser.

However, commenting on fast 135mm is another problem because few tried it in Pentax mount, and is likely we can argue about it forever, because a good fast 135mm on Pentax is long gone and will never come again. It is rarer that jarra-jarra bird, the meat eater, known to grab little children.

135/2 is a lens that is phenomenal for all genres.
Wildlife too, especially for animals and flora that live under the tree canopy (B), that is, on the forest floor (D) and the understory (C).

Here is legendary Minolta 135/2

I would not mind one for Pentax mount.
That would be the king of medium telephoto primes, and a lens to die for.
Samyang made one for Pentax, but that is manual focusing lens. However, it received all very good reviews.

It begins and ends when they need it, for their persuasive purposes.

Exactly. That is proposed solution only to show that the story of FA Ltd lenses is sealed. They will never come renewed.
New primes will come, and as Monochrome stated, in more traditional focal lengths.

It can be done with affixed 645Z sensor, so, the lens projects what it can, and you decide what is worthwhile.
I mean, all these things could have been done easily in film times, but today all is too complicated. There is no way a company would allow such a freedom of expression anymore, or experimentation with their equipment.

If would be ways cheaper for Pentax team to come with a new camera totally suited for older lenses (that is, one point AF; manual focus with split prism, 100% OVF, knobs ala KP, etc), than to redesign old lenses to suit today's cameras.

It seems, all designs are a pain for some companies, and no pain at all for others?
So, Ricoh Imaging, it seems when reading these posts, is at pains to deliver anything of their own — they can only deliver if Tamron does all the work for them? On top of that, they can heroically deliver 'relatively easy' 50mm, but are at pains at 35mm or 24mm? Tough stuff!

Statements in this thread make zero sense. Who on earth you think those engineers are? Half-brained nitwits?

Ricoh has designs for FF lenses for years now, they have normal lens designs, macro and zoom lens designs all patented. It is not that they 'need to go to school' and learn how to make a lens. I can't believe these posts!

If they delay releases, it may for all sorts of reasons. But then, who even says they are delayed? Do you guys decide that and based on what?! It is simply stupefying to always think of one reason only for anything that is at odds with your projections and wild desires, and repeat it all over the forum. And on top of that, constructed are totally speculative new timeframes of release, that have zero confirmation — it is just pure and distorted imagination of authors of such posts. I read in disbelief these posts and ask myself where on earth these guys are getting all that?

We indeed live in the age of fake news, and, o boy, you fabricate it 24/7. If you do not know the real information, if all you can do around Forum is manufacture useless information, false timeframes and spread it without second thought, can you guys just stop for a moment, and, say, I don't know ... enrol etching classes? It would be better for all.

Can someone ask them when they wish to release 50 and 85, and .. why not together with 35? Why wait?
Act! So all tree to choose from and ready to buy before long.

Someone noted that planned / probable issue date of the 85 is end of 2017 .. and no mention of release date of 50 ... which I find all too bewildering.
Three crucial primes must be released at the same time.
They should treat three DFA primes as a 35-85 /1.4 zoom lens, and simply do it.
C'mon, drop a bomb Ricoh.

85/1.4 was kinda obvious from the map, even if it remained unveiled and just a marker line.
However, those wideangle lenses are far more interesting unknowns — I wish if Ricoh had revealed one of them instead.
