Bugger. You could always try cracking open the lens to see what spare parts are inside, or to make some sort of frankenlens.

I've been used the holidays to play around with a few ideas: |

Truly stunning. The one trip where I managed to reach Kime Hut, the place was enveloped in cloud and the rain was going horizontally past the windows.

I got a free Cactus V4 after letting them publish a photo I took of a rose many moons ago in the "When Light Dances" book that accompanied the trigger.
My V2s units are looking very tatty now, so I should probably research an upgrade.

I'm going to leap out from behind the digital bushes (where I have been trying to keep up with the conversation) to add my 2 cents on panning. When I set out to get a panning shot, I try and stand with legs slightly apart in an effort to keep my upper body as stable as possible. I will normally rehearse the motion that I want to use to make sure I can smoothly track my subject. I will also try and get exposure, focus and focal settings sorted at the same time. Other things to consider, the slower the shutter speed the lower the success rate (Sebastien Loeb | Flickr - Photo Sharing!). A wide angle of the lens when combined with a close subject will result in a semi-blurred subject (City Link | Flickr - Photo Sharing!). Finally, there are always a few options for turning the whole panning concept on its head (Mobile Reflection | Flickr - Photo Sharing!).

Interesting. When I was at the Lateran festival this year, I didn't see anyone else with a Pentax (although given the number of people that were there it's not entirely surprising). A few weeks ago I did see someone carrying a stormtrooper Pentax in the Mt Eden village, but when compared to all the other makes and models I frequently see, yes Pentax is very thin on the ground.

The M85/2 is a really nice piece of glass, so there is not much chance of me wanting to get rid of it.

Thought it was about time that I introduced myself. My name is Brett. I am in Auckland am currently shooting with a K10D. Details of the equipment that I have managed to buy can be found on my Flickr profile. Likewise there is a selection of my better photos on Flickr as well.
Are there any other Pentex users in Auckland, or am I the only one?
