Nice set all around. Love the composition/lack of depth of field of the tea can....and the flaming chef shot is awesome.

I won both the 15mm and the 21mm as well....it almost is a treat when I bust out the 21mm. In the end I do like the focal length a bit more and it is more versitile....but there is just something about that darn 15mm ;) Great tones on the B/W's, really like the framing and contrast of the tangled roots vs. the somewhat smooth beach/sea/sky. The detail/exposure you can achieve in the foreground while shooting directly into the sun still amazes me.

Looks like a scene from some apocalyptic movie....innocent beach go-ers about to feel Mother Natures wrath ;) Excellent photo.

Cross posted in the DA 15mm thread.....
Enjoyed crystal clear skies this weekend while camping along the Deschutes River here in OR. This photo of the Milky Way was shot with the DA 15mm, four photos stitched in PS. |

Rolling luggage, messed up/pulled back hair, and a wrinkly shirt.....looks like a long day of travel. Cool capture.

Very nice photos. Wonderful look to the film, and her sweater seems to go perfectly with the hills/trees of the first photo....planned? ;)
So you used the DA70 on a film MZ7....does the DA70 change any in performance or crop? Have you used digital lenses on any other film bodies? K1000?
Sorry if you have answered these questions before.

It is a bit off isn't it.....I kinda felt that way too looking at it but couldn't decide, thanks for the second opinion :)
Yep, I definitely like it as a B/W. I liked the original color shot as well, but the B/W version gives it a bit more gritty-ness, plus I think the range of tones is more apparent. Well done!

Thanks! I don't always get the 70mm out when shooting land/cityscapes, but it's a good way to mix up the composition.
Portland has a pretty decent cityscape for a small-ish city. Not a lot of tall buildings or structures, but when the skies are clear Mt. Hood/St. Helens loom over the city which is pretty awesome....just don't get that view a lot in the wet winter months ;)

That could be a really nice B/W....Maybe dodge/burn a bit? lot of texture and different tones.

Ha! Get your mind out of the gutter ;) How big would you say that rock is?.....not that size matters ;) But seriously, just wondering how tall it is....sometimes it's hard to get a good idea of the scale of an object against a vast landscape

Cool set of photos and great sunset gradient. 3rd is my favorite of the set.....very interesting boulders/tree. This scene might be cool silhouetted against a sunrise....very odd forms. Good work!

Velvet mites.....weird. Nice photos. It is hard to get to true 1:1 with such a wide macro, but it's nice to have the versatility.

Thanks! Never seen sun rays extent this far. There are fires east of here, with some of the smoke/ash drifting over our way....wonder if that's why.....

Doesn't look like there was any where to run from that storm ;) How do you keep your gear dry while biking? I have been looking for something for around town biking.
