:) I brought the Hass gear and my buddy packed the pork.....at least he didn't have to carry the pork on the way back down ;) Nice to spoil yourself sometimes.
Here are a couple more photos from that same trip: |

Here is a photo of my buddy from a backpacking trip late last summer. Cooking dinner along the shore of Green Lake with Broken Top in the background. Sous vide pork chops, rice/peppers and a view that was hard to beat.

Awesome scene....and as all of your B/W MF work, the dynamic range is insane. I think this one deserves a print.
I like both, but the second photo is something else. Her pose and the resulting shadow is crazy. I will have to check out the rest of your tumblr feed once I leave the office ;)

This photo was taken at in a basement bar here in PDX. Found in the basement of a men's barber shop, this bar has a "train" theme. You may sit in a in a booth equipped with a velvet curtain and live video feed of the NW and PDX passing you by. There are even train sounds playing in the background. What there isn't....is a lot of light. Two candles and a video screen isn't ideal for chess or photography. I shot this with my 60mm @ f/3.5 and I think around a 1/15 of a sec. Even with the under-exposure and grain I am still happy with the result as I feel the images create a mood of sorts.

No problem :) Constructive criticism is important in addition to high praise.
I use a V700, and my scanning workflow sounds pretty similar to yours. Scan....to LR....Exposure/temp ect. Sometimes if I find that I am not getting the colors I wanted/saw, I will make slight adjustments to the individual color channels by way of the Hue/Saturation/Luminance. A few tweaks in the color channels can make a big difference.....without changing the temp/saturation of the entire image.
I agree....my goal is to get the scene my eye's saw, while considering the characteristics of the film type. Since I start I am already seeing improvements in my MF shooting/scanning/editing.....Im sure you will too.

Here are a couple photos from a trip up to Whidbey Island last fall. Both shot with my Hasselblad 500cm. The first on Fuji 100F with a 10mm extension tube (tough to get that little guy in focus) and the second on Portra 160. |

It is definitely a process.....I am still learning myself ;) Out of curiosity, what scanner/software are you using. For the most part I feel your work flow is providing excellent results.

Maybe it was the trees in the previous photo with the fountains....but the colors do look richer in that one, and the skin tones look a little more natural. Just my opinion.....but the photo above looks a bit muted to my eye, a little less saturation...... but maybe it's just the gray day.

The saturation looks just right, and exposure is spot on. Nice photo.

Thanks! I will have to check out that one too next time I am in that neck of the woods. It looks like this one has an underground water flow as well.

Im sure you had to move quick on this shot. Really nice exposure, I can still see that fabric lines in her white dress. They are lucky to have such an awesome film photograph from their wedding day.
Really nice photo, I need to make it out to the coast for some B/W with the Hasselblad.

A couple more from Lost Lake. Rented a canoe with my girlfriend and a buddy of mine. Cruising around a lake on a man powered vessel with a mountain view....hard to beat that.
Difficult to stand and shoot through a WLVF on a canoe however ;)

Thanks! Here is a shot from the same roll at Lost Lake. There are mostly evergreens skirting the lake shore, but I was able to find a few pockets of nice fall foliage.

I always wish that I had ordered prints, something about looking at a hard copy photo especially when it comes from a hard copy negative.....but MF can be pricey just to shoot and get your roll back so hard to always justify it.

Looks like you got some really nice fall portraits. I like the photo of the photos layout with the Pentax/text.....You get an overview of the roll, info about how/where it was shot and we get to look at that nice Pentax ;) Well done!

Really awesome work on here.....
Weather is supposed to be better around the NW next weekend...here's hoping. You're making good use of the grey days anyway...nice work.
Beautiful stretch of road, wish I was walking down that right now camera in hand.
Really nice shot. Composition to spot on if you ask me...the bridge in the foreground perfectly splitting the bridge in the background. Good choice on aperture/shutter....love the slight blur of the low lying clouds. Excellent!
You may have missed focus, but I really like how it turned out....softer and a bit more abstract....almost like a painting.

Really nice photos, looks like you two saw quite a bit. The Smoky Mountains are high on my list for travel destinations.
I bet that shot of you two on the log took some quick moving....or maybe the help of a fellow traveler ;) Well done!
