Thank you dunerunner and Pablom!
I usually use the DA12-24 for Northern Lights, although my very favourite aurora lens is the FA*24/2 because of its beautiful rendering of the Light. 24mm is not wide enough on aps-c for Northern Lights, so I am very eager to test the lens on a future digital Pentax full frame. I purchased the DA15 some months ago, and have not really had a chance to test it with Northern Lights before the occurance on the 17 March. I was hoping the DA15 would have some of the qualities I so much like with the FA24, and although the lens must be stopped down to f5.6 to reduce koma (avoid strange looking stars in the borders) the DA15 impressed me lot. I believe I prefer the rendering and contrast of the DA15 to the DA12-24 for Northern Lights. So to all the people who write off the DA15 for Northern Lights photography - The DA15 can be used with great success also for auroras, as long as you know how to set up the camera and lens in a best possible way.
