dlh - The "yellow things behind the Chicory" is Coreopsis. Very common where I Live, and way too big for this, the Tiny Flowers thread, so is Chicory. Most of these probably are, please try to limit your submissions to anything smaller than a dime. Some of the very small white ones in the middle picture might be more like what this thread is about, they look a little like some very small flowers here in Texas but I can't be sure.
I haven't been around for quite a while, so I haven't been keeping up, no internet, but I may be able to check in a bit more often these days. The idea for this thread is the smallest flowers you can find.
Actually I'm surprised it's still running...3 years now? I don't know, I've slept since then...

Sorry but I screwed up. It's actually Texas Toadflax, not Vervain, don't know why the wrong name popped into my head. It's still blooming here in my wildflower patch too.

I think I found it. Have them in the yard and up the street on the morning bike ride. I think its a type of vervain, same ones I see here. Can't find a picture right now not sure if tablet will do 2 tabs. Not good with it yet. Check this thread I should have some from a while back.

Sorry, don't know what that one is and don't have my flower book with me. I'll look through a couple of books and see if anything jumps out at me.
If you can get a wider shot with some of the leaves too, that might help.
By the way I think I see a couple of sensor spots at bottom left.

I'm pretty sure I've posted these before, but can't remember what they are. Each is about 1/4 inch across. Found them growing on the roadside about 15 miles away. Didn't have a macro rig with me, this is just a 50mm lens. IMGP80615 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Not sure what this one is and haven't had a chance to try and look it up. Not a great shot, dark and overcast, I'll try again later. IMGP80086 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Identical to Bergamot, but Bergamot is deep red, I think I saw this one listed as Beebalm too. Juyts loooked it up online, seems both are called by either name...the Beebalm I've been seeing here is a different flower... I'm so confused... whole cluster is about 2 inches across, individual flowers under 1/4 inch wide, less than an inch long. IMGP80081 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr IMGP80057 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

I've posted these before, this is one of the best shots I've gotten in a while. I think this is Indian Plantain, not often I noticed it in bloom until I started looking for it. IMGP79769 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
No idea what this one is, grows all over my back yard. About 1/4 inch across. IMGP79922 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Nickel size...interesting, I'd like to see those. I got shots of many in Louisiana and some red ones up the road here in Texas, all about 2 inches across. It would be cool to see them nickel size... I've seen plenty domesticated miniature roses about that size, never knew a wild variety existed. Most of the ones I post are pencil eraser size or smaller. You don't even notice them until you start looking for the really small ones. Henbit, Bluets, Speedwell...
Anyway, the original guideline is dime size or smaller. I wanted to go smaller than that but thought it may seriously limit the scope of the thread. I started by chance, I spotted some on a trip out west that were 1/8 inch across, tiny 4 petal white flowers on very spiny plants, got hooked in no time, especially since I was trying to get shots with a point and shoot that wanted to focus on the background. It took me 30 or 40 shots to get one decent one. Been at it ever since, and never had any idea just how many really small flowers are out there until I started to look for them...

Sorrel. Known as an herb for many years, grows wild all over the place. Each greenish flower about 1/8 inch across. IMGP78529 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
A little under dime size, I'm not sure what it is. Thought I had gotten an ID before but can't remember...plenty in the wildflower patch. IMGP78630 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Ladies Tresses Orchid. Planted some seeds in the wildflower patch last year, they just started blooming a couple of weeks ago. 6 or 8 blooming now, about 20 still unopened. IMGP78616 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Same flower Hangman posted in another post, I can't remember what it is either. We have a white variety too, I haven't gotten any shots of those recently. About pencil eraser size. IMGP78621 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Loads of pollen here too.
Some of the residents in my wildflower patch
Dwarf Dandelion. These are all over the place, don't mow for a few days and Dandelions of all descriptions start showing up. IMGP77532 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Crimson Clover. I planted these 3 years ago from seeds gathered down the road. IMGP77530 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
I can't remember the name of these, they grow everywhere, I don't mow till everything seeds out every year to let everything propagate. It's knee high by then but worth it. IMGP77661 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Just spotted these today, all over the flower patch. NO idea what they are, not in the books I've looked through so far, about the size of the shutt3er button on my K30. IMGP77655 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Also spotted a tiny white flower, so small a 50mm by itself didn't do it much good so I'll have to try again with a macro rig. Anything 1/8 inch across probably deserves a macro anyway...and if I can find one, I spotted some Indian plantain blooming, even smaller...

A couple from the wildflower patch just now starting to bloom a lot.
All of these are binocular lens macro. Pentax 50mm f1.7, at f11 this time and ISO200, with a binocular lens attached to the front. Perfect size, just wiggles into place.
Texas Toad Flax. Wild as it can be I just let it grow. I never mow this spot until everything seeds. Dozens all over the place. IMGP77462 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Same as above, just let it grow. Woods Corn Salad. IMGP77473 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Crimson Clover, planted 2 years ago. 3 bloom stalks open today, this one just opened this morning. IMGP77476 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Bluets. Always all over everywhere, can't get rid of them...not that I'd want to... IMGP77470 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr IMGP77468 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Nice...Dayflower, Chickweed and Henbit. No Chickweed here so far, got some Henbit and Texas Toadflax and a Bluet recently though...
Henbit...all over the place right now, taken yesterday. Makinon 135mm and 55mm extension tubes, natural sunlight. IMGP77203 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Pretty large crop of a Texas Toadflax, also yesterday, same rig. IMGP77208 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Everything covered in dew yesterday, this Bluet and a Evening Primrose were the best two dew drop shots I got. The Primrose is way too big for this thread though... IMGP77212 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Smaller Bluet from a few days ago. I also got some shots of the tiny white ones, 1/4 inch across, but I guess they didn't get uploaded... IMGP77146 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Paul - Those gotta be near water, I've seen them here and Louisiana, always near water, even a ditch. Can't remember the name, I'll have to look it up again.
These just started blooming recently, a little bigger than pencil erasers. Another one I'll have to look up again... IMGP72989 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Photolady - After another look, your description and the yellow areas in the base of the flower kind of reminds me of Blue Eyed Grass, but folded in on itself later on in the day as it dies back.
EDIT- After posting I noticed a couple curled in like this in the first shot, very clsoe to what you posted.
If I'm right it would look something like this open... IMGP67881 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
or this, as far as I can tell it's another variety, both just a little bigger than a dime. IMGP67873 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
OK so tiny flowers...
Ladies Tresses Orchids have been blooming recently, I'm watching for seeds. Two varieties, flowers about 1/4 inch long IMGP69834 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr IMGP69820 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
This is the bigger variety, flowers slightly larger, plant much taller, not quite as spiral looking IMGP69794 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Verbena. Whole cluster is about the size of a quarter IMGP68310 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Vervain. Relative of Verbena, about the same size but not in clusters. IMGP68229 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Paul -- Henbit is all over our yard too, and everywhere else nearby. Cool to have flowers blooming in mid winter...I've found them covered in frost and still going strong. I'm not that far from you, going to Canton today actually, you shoud have Bluets blloming now too, and maybe some tiny Speedwell if you look close. I'm seeing a few Spring Beauties and Violets but they're too big for the tiny flowers thread...YOu have to really look for the Speedwell though, it's a bloom about the size of a pinhead, blue and hard to spot.
Looks like this one but smaller. I've found 3 sizes, this one is about 1/8 inch across, large one is 3/8 inch, smaller one is pinhead size. I found a couple yesterday but didn't pull out the macro rig. IMGP44107 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr

Henbit and Bluets started blooming not long ago, finally got out in the cold and got some macros...
Henbit IMGP65499 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Small white Bluet about 1/4 inch across IMGP65503 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
Larger lavender Bluet about 3/8 inch across.. IMGP65495 by Paleo Pete, on Flickr
photolady - Yep, Horse Herb is what I thought, I originally thought it was a yellow variety of Chickweed, due to the split petals, the main characteristic of Chickweed. Don't remember where I found out what it really is...I think the second one looks a lot like Dwarf Dandelion, but not sure, they grow all over the yard here, I'll probably have more shots this spring...usually about dime size but almost identical to a dandelion.

Photolady - I have the top one growing in my yard, I thought it was a type of Chickweed, but someone told me it's Horse Herb...that's a pretty cool shot of it. Is the 2nd one a Dwarf Dandelion opening?
