Great White Egret. Decent picture in color, I thougth it was much better in B&W.

I don't do many black and white shots but here is one taken recently that came out pretty good after converting. A lot of the time I'll take them in B&W on camera, but sometimes one just looks good after conversion so...
Taken with SMC Pentax M 28mm lens.

My first B&W to post in a long time, but thought these might be acceptable here...
Never thought a butterfly would work, but when I converted this one I was pleased with it.
and a shot of a local bayou here, very low this year due to drought and farmers pumping water from it into their fields.

I think it would be better if I pushed the contrast and darkened it just a tad, comments and suggestions welcome.

Nice shot, the bark always shows great textures in B&W. I always look for dead, bare or fallen trees, large stumps can be very good too.
