Last two are shots of former neighbor girls. One was a tomboy (on the car), age 7. The other was only 5 years old but the same size as her older sister; and though she looked somewhat innocent, it wasn't quite the case.
I wanted to do the freckle-face sisters' portraits after an incident where I was working outside in my yard and kept hearing what sounded like faint grunting sounds. I followed the noise to my neighbor's side of the house where the sisters were beating the crap out of each other. I don't mean mere hair pulling, but serious take downs, kicking and punching. It took some effort to pry them apart too, neither had had enough.
So later when I saw the older sis sitting on the car, I was teasing her about it (which is why she was laughing), and got her to tell me why they were so quiet. She said "so mom wouldn't hear and make us stop."

Thank you. There is much to see in Yosemite that can be driven to, as well as short easy hikes to good spots. If you can visit in September, the park relatively empty. In the Spring it's also not crowded, and far more dramatic in terms of waterfalls, etc. But the summer is a touristy mess.
One more tip, apparently the park absorbed some condos and vacation homes that were privately built, which visitors can now rent from a private company, but they are nonetheless in the park (between the Wawona Hotel and Yosemite Valley). For a very reasonable rate you can have a studio/cabin/house with kitchen, hot tub, and other cool stuff plus privacy. We've stayed there and enjoyed it very much. Indoors, the Castro Valley HS gym.
Here's a self portrait I took during my annual (at the time) retreat to Yosemite after hiking up to Old Inspiration Point and finding a spot to meditate for the day:

I shot this for a community newspaper covering a high school event with togas as part of the theme. I always thought it was a great capture of youthful femininity. The variety of girlness in the front row starts from the left with a little secret trading, then the coy girl, tongue on upper lip, aware I was taking her picture, the next two sharing something with others behind them, and the excited girl about to clap. Cracks me up. Camera: Leica R4 + 50mm f/1.4 Summilux R lens:
