The friend who Fluegel mentioned two posts back was me. I very much appreciate his kindness in sending me a backup K10D.
It arrived yesterday and is in very good condition and had a shutter count less than 4000. It has barely been run in. It has now had a few more shutter actuations and everything on it is working like new.

I consider myself very fortunate to have two fully working K10Ds. Thank you, Fluegel.

When I press the exposure compensation button, the top LCD panel does light up. Always has. Maybe something not quite right on your K10D. That is annoying.

What's with the rear-hinged (suicide!) door? Very unusual.

I have taken many shots of Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia) flowers and I have often been disappointed with the results but today I found one which was a near-perfect fresh bloom. K10D and SMC Pentax-A Macro 50mm f2.8.

Here's one man's assessment from 2020 of the K10D. It's an interesting read.

Check to see if it is actually formatted at 32GB. It would probably work if it was.

Thank you, Richard. I do like the way the K10D renders nice blue skies. I also had the 18-135mm on that day and that is unusual as it is normally welded onto the K-3.

We have also suffered from a lack of blue skies this summer so I made the most of what was available.

The old school bus adds a hint of mystery to your image. And I agree with Paul. That is an unusually large bottlebrush.

I bought mine in 2007 and it now has shutter count over 25000. I have just been using it and it is working as good as the day I got it. It's a trusty workhorse and much loved.
