I'm not entirely sure about the plane. Apparently it crashed in 1973 because of running out of fuel. The crew survived, but the plane wreck was never recovered.

Yes, it's the lay of the land, if i remember that scene correctly. There's a hill or a little mountain or whatever it's called on the left, and from there the terrain descends towards that river on the right.

One pic of last night's auroras. I missed the best part, which was around 20.00 - 20.30 i think. But the show was still pretty nice. D700 & Samyang 14 2.8.

Hi guys
The skies cleared the other day, so i went out to see if there would be some auroras. Only a green haze in was visible to the naked eye, 30 secs / iso 1600 confirmed that it really was a small display of the northern lights. Nothing spectacular, but still the first display i've seen this year. Shot with d700 & samyang 14 2.8.

NIce shots Simon!
I recently purchased a d700 with 50/1.8G. Yesterday i did some testing outside, and here are the results:
It seems like a really nice camera. I feel a bit weird about the size and weight, but i think i'm gonna get used to it eventually. The shutter sound is absolutely amazing!
There was a small tragedy too when i was taking those shots. My bicycle broke! It was my trusty ride for about 15 years.

I'm currently pondering between d700 and d800. Feels like i really can't go wrong here though, it's just a matter of price and some extra features and stuff.
