I met this little owl few weeks ago. Luckily had Sigma 100-300/4 with me.

Thanks, dadipentak. I still like the idea that Tokina is a very small lens, at least when compared to Sigma. Anyway, just bought a flash system with that money. Now time to learn.
Do you think, Pentax will introduce 560/5.6 on Photokina?

I was saying good bye to my Tokina 400/5.6 last weekend. Sold it coz decided to keep Sigma 100-300/4 and wait for Pentax 560, if the price will be reasonable. So, some pictures from that event.
Some cropping and small editing in Lightroom. The last one is heavily cropped.

Hello to all,
I am new in this lens club. I have several friend professional ornithologists and so we use to go to birds ringing. So, I realized that they all have there character and habitudes and its real fun and joy to observe birds in their nature. So, I wanted to try to take pictures of birds in their natural environment reflecting their behavior.
Just recently acquired Sigma 400/5.6 APO and Sigma 100-300/4 with 1.4TC. When 100-300 is very sharp even with TC, the 400/5.6 is a bit soft – at least this is my impression. When I crop the images from 400/5.6 or 400/5.6 with TC (I shoot mostly at aperture 6-11) they did not look as sharp, as from 100-300. Partially I address this to my manual focusing skills – that for sure. But still – this what I usually got from 400/5.6. All images are cropped (20-30%) with some light post-processing.
Also I would like to know how I can improve my pictures.
I will really appreciate your opinion.
Best regards,
Yuriy
