Luck. Colton, photographically, your luck is what Cartier-Bresson had. Perhaps luck, but much experience and preparation.

In my area, just south of Atlanta, Walmart returns ONLY scans when they process your film. The negatives are discarded, presumably on the theory that no one shoots film other than in throwaway cameras, and no one cares about being able to print anything bigger than 4 x 6. Disgusting!
I imagine that the bean counters noted that sending scanned images to the local store for printing there was cheaper than sending the actual negatives. I hate those stores!!!!!!!!

Any suggestions for the size of the hole? I'd think the smaller the better....

I wonder if a body cap adapted as a pinhole "lens" would work well on my LX. Imagine, TTL off the film pinhole exposure control. Has anyone tried it??

Yield to the Force .... but consider the 645n. While it is a bit more expensive it is a much nicer box. Check out the respective ratings on this forum. I don't consider the 645nii worth the extra money, personally. While it adds mirror lockup, The Luminous Landscape writeup didn't find it necessary.

Oooh! A '55 Chevy BelAir hardtop! I need one of these to accessorize my Vitessa L.
When I was in highschool back in the Paleolithic, a bud had a '55 cream and green 55 BelAir hard top, Loaded: V8, AT, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and ... wait for it .... factory air conditioning! The sort where the evaporator is in the trunk, I guess, and the cooooool air is wafted towards you from 2 big clear plastic "horns", one on either side of the package shelf behind the rear seat. What a ride! Supposedly bought from a little old lady who only drove it to the gin mills on the weekends.

Yep, the LX with a compatible flash is a lean, mean, picture taking machine! I have had very few bad flash shots with it, and with the AF400T the reach is incredible. Again, since Pentax' first DSLRs used TTL, why the change to PTTL? My AF400 would love to play with my K 5 in full auto mode. Alas....

Makes me wonder how much money is saved by not merely slipping the negs in the packaging along with the CD? Perhaps they've found a way to scan negs before the negs are properly washed? Or is it merely a matter of saving a few cents per unit. That is, of course, the way that WickedMart makes so much money. That, and stiffing their suppliers.

While I try to avoid WalMart I found myself in a local one so, while my wife shopped for something I wandered over to the photo department. Yes, they "do" film, in a manner of speaking. What you pick up is a CD with your images, and prints if ordered, and That's All, Folks! No negatives. I told the pleasant fellow working the counter that I found that terrible, and he, after looking around to see if any of the supervisors were nearby, agreed.

Since I have a 645n I'd like to know also. Funny, the 645 uses TTL flash automation so it has a sensor that reads off the film. What a pity Pentax couldn't (or wouldn't) use the sort of metering system they'd introduced with the LX, which can effortlessly handle night scenes like these.

If you crop the vegetation in the top of the shot it looks like a huge wave of stone breaking over unsuspecting folk. A wild rock formation and a good shot.

A great shot! I like the color coordination and the look of joy on Etta's face and the swirl of that gorgeous hair. The bandaid adds authenticity, and the blase dog adds humor. Probably exhausted keeping up with Etta. Little kids are so much fun to shoot, before they get self conscious.

Wowzer! Most of the local C-41 soupers have gone away, and E-6? Don't make me laugh! Especially if you might want 645 slides mounted. Keep us informed, I'd like to find a good lab and I certainly wouldn't mind helping a fellow Pentaxian! You would accept film shot in non-Pentax boxes? Please....

I'd show it to the lab. They should really reimburse you for the cost of processing AND give you a replacement roll of film. Some serious self-scourging and lashing would be appropriate. This is truly inexcusable if the negatives show this flaw. Go git 'em!

I suspect insufficient agitation. The general agitation recommendation is 30 seconds initially, then 10 seconds per minute. Without agitation the developer becomes locally exhausted and perhaps even stratified or layered, the emulsion thus isn't developed evenly. Are you developing with replenishment, or "one-shot?" With D-76, for instance the stock solution can either be replenished, or diluted 1 to 1 and discarded after use. Many of us prefer one-shot, since developer is relatively cheap.
An advantage of 1 to 1 is that the developing time is longer, so small errors in timing make little or no difference.
The Yashica is a nice box, isn't it? Is this the one with a 35mm adaptor? If so, did you use it? I don't really see how that could make a difference, but... other members may find the information useful. Although if the adaptor is the problem it should affect all rolls, not just one.

I have the V700. It's probably the best choice for the money. I've made 13 x 19 from 3500 dpi scans from C-41 pix taken with my LX. Being able to scan 24 negs at once is nice, just set it, have a cuppa or whatever, and in 45 minutes or so, depending on whether you're using ICE your're done.
Now, a dedicated film scanner would be nice, but...OMG the cost!

Killer shots! Is the show at an airfield in the Athens area? Some years ago I and my then Lady drove up in time to see a low level flyover by a B2 with wings extended for slow speed flight. Awesome! Wonderful shots, the Northern Lights, et al. Low level inverted flights with a maniac doing wing walks. Wowzer! Some folks must have death wishes. Pitts Specials, the whole works. No GeeBees, though, alas! My Lady's father, a fighter pilot in WWII, had been a crop duster in Iowa, and her brothers had continued in that "noble, fearless" tradition, so she could fill me in on what was happening. Pretty scary! The box for jets is too big to appreciate aerobatics, but prop planes are something else.
